What is the Sunday worship service like?

Our Sunday morning worship service begins on time at 10am. We open with a couple of songs, a welcome with a chance to greet each other and then share some important announcements about what's happening here at Bonavista.   Children up to grade six are usually dismissed at this point to attend Children’s Worship and there is sometimes a special group for teens.   We sing a few more songs and then have an opportunity for prayer and a reading from Scripture before a time of practical Bible teaching from one of our Pastors. The morning ends with one final song and a few words from a Pastor. There is opportunity to stay for personal prayer after the service or gather in the main foyer for coffee.  The whole service lasts about an hour and fifteen minutes.

What about my kids?

When you first arrive at Bonavista, you will notice a check-in desk for our families with children up to grade six. The volunteers at this table will help you register your child and will provide vital information about our program. You can then take your child with you into the sanctuary and the children will all be dismissed to their classes about twenty minutes into the service.   At that time, kids can head off to their own time of singing, teaching & small groups. We have an incredible team of volunteers who love to make kids feel welcomed & accepted. All of our volunteer workers have completed criminal record checks and have taken our Plan to Protect training. Only you can pick up your child after the service.   We also have a staffed nursery available for kids up to age 2 that is available throughout the worship service. Parents are welcome to drop off their children or are welcome to stay as well. We have a pager system for our nursery in case your child needs you during the worship service.

Where do I park?

Parking is available in our main parking lot on the north side of the church building. Access is off of Acadia Drive. We also have overflow parking in the lane on the west side of the building and street parking is permitted on Acadia Drive.

What do I wear?

Come as you are. People dress casually and rarely do we see a suit and tie! The congregation is generally relaxed and informal but also respectful during our worship time.

How can I get connected?

Fill out a communication card in the service or complete the online form and we will be happy to contact you. We also have a Newcomers Lunch twice each year, just watch for the notice and sign up. The very best way to get connected is through one of our small groups or by taking the Alpha course. Please contact one of the Pastors for more information.
